Best value of the weekend goes to the Cowboys for Stutsman: B.

You could see the war room lean forward. Danny Stutsman at No. 169 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

Igbinosun has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The offensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

The trade work was a quiet net positive. They went 7 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Good work on the whole, with offensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.12 · Pick 12 · Mason Graham · DT · rank 8
In slot 12 they get a load in the middle. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.19 · Pick 51 · Isaiah Bond · WR · rank 35
The board had Isaiah Bond higher than pick 51, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R2.29 · Pick 61 · Derrick Harmon · DT · rank 45
They read the board right and Derrick Harmon was the payoff at the Round 2 slot. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R3.11 · Pick 75 · Alfred Collins · DL · rank 97
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Alfred Collins. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R3.19 · Pick 83 · Kaleb Johnson · RB · rank 51
They will replay Kaleb Johnson at the 83rd pick for years; that is how good the value is. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R4.17 · Pick 118 · Dylan Sampson · RB · rank 52
They robbed the room for Dylan Sampson here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R4.29 · Pick 130 · TreVeyon Henderson · RB · rank 72
TreVeyon Henderson in Round 4, Pick 29 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It fills a real need, too.
R5.31 · Pick 169 · Danny Stutsman · LB · rank 95
Danny Stutsman in the 169th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R5.32 · Pick 170 · Gunnar Helm · TE · rank 187
A reach for Gunnar Helm in the Round 5 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. The roster fit checks out.
R5.33 · Pick 171 · Jordan Hancock · S · rank 144
Taking Jordan Hancock in No. 171 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. It adds depth where they could use a little.
R5.34 · Pick 172 · Davison Igbinosun · CB · rank 208
Davison Igbinosun at slot 172 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R6.11 · Pick 186 · Lathan Ransom · S · rank 145
A safety of that caliber at pick No. 186 is the definition of value, full stop. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
R6.34 · Pick 209 · Will Howard · QB · rank 237
This one needs a full-page explanation: Will Howard in Round 6, Pick 34, miles early. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
