Grand theft in pick 202: the Commanders steal Bassa and grade out a B.

The Commanders spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Jeffrey Bassa, the No. 120 name on the board, in No. 202. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
If Walley pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 29 they get a disruptor off the edge, even if it was a touch early.
A wild overpay on Donovan Jackson in the Round 2 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They barely believed it either: Jihaad Campbell still on the board at pick No. 79. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A slide stopped in Round 4, Pick 7, with Tez Johnson worth more than the price. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Quinshon Judkins at the 133rd pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A need, and now a little less of one.
Mason Taylor at No. 146 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
The board fumbled Jake Majors all the way to slot 155, and they scooped it up. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
You do not let a linebacker like Jeffrey Bassa reach the 202nd overall pick and blink. They did not. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
A big swing on Justin Walley at the 235th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Taking Xavier Nwankpa in pick 246 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
