Somebody in Round 6, Pick 29 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Commanders sat still while Chris Paul Jr., the No. 88 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
Watkins has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 29th pick they get a press-man option on the boundary at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A safety of that caliber at the 61st overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
TreVeyon Henderson in No. 91 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.

They robbed the room for Elijah Arroyo here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A conviction pick on Vernon Broughton at pick No. 148 that the board grades a round light. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Circle this one: Chris Paul Jr. at slot 207 is a fall that decides a draft. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They liked Clay Webb enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 238. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They reached a country mile for Jordan Watkins at slot 250, and the board is aghast. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
