Some picks age like wine; Trey Wedig at Round 6, Pick 15 will need to, sitting 106 spots clear of his grade. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

If one pick saves this weekend, it is Stutsman. They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. The Stewart pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at wide receiver, quarterback and other spots.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.13 · Pick 13 · Mason Graham · DT · rank 8
In slot 13 they get a disruptive interior force at fair value.
R2.22 · Pick 54 · James Pearce Jr. · DE · rank 17
James Pearce Jr. in pick 54 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R3.14 · Pick 78 · Josaiah Stewart · DE · rank 25
Of all the spots to shop, they chose edge rusher. Josaiah Stewart in No. 78 leaves wide receiver, quarterback and other spots for later.
R3.24 · Pick 88 · Kaleb Johnson · RB · rank 51
Circle this one: Kaleb Johnson at the Round 3 slot is a fall that decides a draft. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R5.12 · Pick 150 · TreVeyon Henderson · RB · rank 72
They will replay TreVeyon Henderson at the 150th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. A need, and now a little less of one.
R5.31 · Pick 169 · Cody Simon · LB · rank 121
Cody Simon in Round 5, Pick 31 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R5.32 · Pick 170 · Lathan Ransom · S · rank 107
You do not let a safety like Lathan Ransom reach pick 170 and blink. They did not. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R5.33 · Pick 171 · Davison Igbinosun · CB · rank 213
A wild overpay on Davison Igbinosun in the 171st overall pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R5.34 · Pick 172 · Bryce Foster · C · rank 186
They went early on Bryce Foster in the Round 5 slot, and the value did not follow. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R6.2 · Pick 177 · Danny Stutsman · LB · rank 95
Danny Stutsman in slot 177 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R6.15 · Pick 190 · Trey Wedig · OT · rank 296
They left a pile of value on the table to take Trey Wedig this early at the 190th pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
