Boards are made to be trusted, and the Cowboys shredded theirs for Thor Griffith. He came off 116 spots early, and the room will hear about it. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
The Stutsman pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped offensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but offensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 12 they get a go-to option on the outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Nick Emmanwori in No. 43 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It adds depth where they could use a little.
A running back of that caliber at pick 74 is the definition of value, full stop. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A big swing on Nazir Stackhouse at pick No. 148, well ahead of any board in the building. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Thor Griffith at Round 5, Pick 30 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Danny Stutsman at the 170th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They barely believed it either: Oronde Gadsden II still on the board at the 171st pick. It fills a real need, too.
Jordan Hancock in No. 186 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Davison Igbinosun at slot 209 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
