The Cowboys went off the board in a big way for Davison Igbinosun, 71 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another.
Mondon Jr. at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
Ashton Jeanty at the 14th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Nick Emmanwori at pick 45 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Alfred Collins slid further than he should have, and No. 76 is lovely value for the interior defensive lineman. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They reached into another round for Davison Igbinosun, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Miles Frazier at the 168th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.

They left a pile of value on the table to take Julian Fleming this early at No. 248. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
