The Cowboys did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and TreVeyon Henderson fell into the Round 5 slot. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
If Howard pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 11 they get a featured back, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
You do not let an edge rusher like James Pearce Jr. reach the Round 2 slot and blink. They did not. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Alfred Collins in pick No. 75, miles early. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Andrew Mukuba in slot 149 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
They robbed the room for Danny Stutsman here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Value said wait; Will Howard in pick 170 says they were not listening. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They will replay TreVeyon Henderson at the 171st overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Lathan Ransom in Round 6, Pick 11, plain and simple. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Cody Simon in pick No. 209 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
