Grand theft in the 169th pick: the Cowboys steal Majors and grade out a B.

Call it larceny. Jake Majors sat on the board until slot 169, and the Cowboys did not need to be asked twice.

Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.

Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.11 · Pick 11 · Ashton Jeanty · RB · rank 2
In Round 1, Pick 11 they get a lead back with juice, outstanding value to boot.
R2.10 · Pick 42 · Derrick Harmon · DT · rank 45
They took Derrick Harmon at par in pick No. 42, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R3.11 · Pick 75 · Kenneth Grant · DL · rank 67
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Kenneth Grant at No. 75 is the proof. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R5.11 · Pick 149 · Tyler Warren · TE · rank 58
Tyler Warren at slot 149 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R5.31 · Pick 169 · Jake Majors · C · rank 65
Taking Jake Majors in the 169th overall pick is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R5.32 · Pick 170 · Danny Stutsman · LB · rank 96
You do not let a linebacker like Danny Stutsman reach the 170th pick and blink. They did not. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R5.33 · Pick 171 · TreVeyon Henderson · RB · rank 71
A running back of that caliber at the Round 5 slot is the definition of value, full stop. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R6.11 · Pick 186 · Lathan Ransom · S · rank 147
They robbed the room for Lathan Ransom here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R6.34 · Pick 209 · Hunter Wohler · S · rank 210
No edge and no loss on Hunter Wohler in pick 209; it is a wash and a sensible one. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
