If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. They will answer for taking DT-EDGE early while edge rusher, interior defensive lineman and other spots went begging. The Van Pran reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 9 they get a go-to option on the outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Amarius Mims in the 37th pick. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A reach for Sedrick Van Pran in the Round 3 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. The roster fit checks out.
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 106, where Caelen Carson graded well above the range. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
