The Kamran James pick is the one that will follow the Bears into the fall. They took him 105 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. The process wobbled, and the D- is where it lands.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.

That Wheatley pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.
