You can hear the double-takes from here. The Giants took Myles Murphy at pick No. 140, roughly 79 spots before his name belonged. Just about everything broke right, and the A follows.
Getting Melton where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped safety, which is a strange place to end up.
The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.
