Thirty-one other rooms let Tahj Washington slide, and the Cowboys were the ones holding the card at slot 233. Highway robbery.
The Anderson reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 24 they get a plug-and-play piece up front. The biggest hole, addressed.
Zach Frazier in the Round 2 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They took Bucky Irving at par in slot 87, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Kalen King at Round 5, Pick 38 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Curtis Jacobs at pick 216 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Tahj Washington in the 233rd overall pick, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Evan Anderson in No. 244 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It fills a real need, too.
