Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Bears spent the 60th overall pick on Caden Curry, a name most had 72 spots down the list. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
They will regret leaving running back for another day if the season turns on it. However the rest shakes out, Styles at that price is a win they earned. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 26th overall pick they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Domonique Orange at Round 2, Pick 25 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Caden Curry well ahead of where he belonged. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Bryce Lance in No. 89 is fair value, right on his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
By-the-book stuff, Trey Zuhn III at pick 129 squarely in line with his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
No edge and no loss on Jeremiah Wright in the 220th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Robert Spears-Jennings in slot 239 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Thaddeus Dixon at the Round 7 slot is the proof. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
