The Packers treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending the 220th pick on DeMonte Capehart a full 140 spots early. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
Landing Muhammad III that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.
Job largely done: running back settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
Rome Odunze in Round 1, Pick 9 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jeremiah Trotter Jr.. A minor itch, scratched.
Jordan Morgan at pick No. 43 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A reach for TreVeyon Henderson in slot 73; a little patience would have been rewarded. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Amarius Mims at the Round 3 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Christian Haynes at the 109th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
No edge and no loss on Cole Bishop in No. 135; it is a wash and a sensible one. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Moose Muhammad III in the 187th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A need, and now a little less of one.
They paid sticker price for Joshua Gray in Round 6, Pick 42, and that is fine. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A wild overpay on DeMonte Capehart in the Round 6 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It fills a real need, too.
Nice patience on Jalen Catalon, who had no business lasting to the 230th overall pick. Not a spot anyone had flagged, which makes it a head-scratcher.
