The Packers finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a B.

After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Packers committed. Drake Maye is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.

On value alone, McGlothern makes the weekend a net positive. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Drake Maye · QB · rank 7
In the 25th pick they get a franchise quarterback, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Troy Franklin · WR · rank 33
Troy Franklin slid further than he should have, and the Round 2 slot is lovely value for the wide receiver. A need, and now a little less of one.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Edgerrin Cooper · LB · rank 49
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 58, where Edgerrin Cooper graded well above the range. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Patrick Paul · OT · rank 69
Taking Patrick Paul in slot 88 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Blake Corum · RB · rank 84
A tidy little value on Blake Corum in the 91st overall pick, a step better than break-even. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Elijah Jones · CB · rank 116
Nice patience on Elijah Jones, who had no business lasting to No. 126. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R5.33 · Pick 169 · Nehemiah Pritchett · CB · rank 143
Nehemiah Pritchett at pick 169 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R6.27 · Pick 202 · Dwight McGlothern · CB · rank 161
You do not let a cornerback like Dwight McGlothern reach Round 6, Pick 27 and blink. They did not. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Ro Torrence · CB · rank 179
They barely believed it either: Ro Torrence still on the board at pick 219. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Garret Greenfield · OT · rank 216
They will replay Garret Greenfield at the 245th pick for years; that is how good the value is. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R7.35 · Pick 255 · Sheridan Jones · CB · rank 219
Sheridan Jones in slot 255 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
