Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Ravens came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close.
That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through running back. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most.
The kind of weekend a front office frames and hangs on the wall.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 18 they get a three-down second-level presence at a price that makes it sweeter. Need was not the driver here.
Olaivavega Ioane in Round 1, Pick 23 is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Steal is underselling it; Jake Slaughter at pick No. 84 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Daylen Everette slipping to slot 97 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Nice patience on Bryce Lance, who had no business lasting to the 107th pick. A need, and now a little less of one.
Eli Raridon in the Round 4 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Jaeden Roberts is a better player than pick No. 162 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Skyler Gill-Howard in the 163rd pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Jeff Caldwell slid further than he should have, and the Round 6 slot is lovely value for the wide receiver. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A straight-up fair deal on Jack Kelly at the 253rd overall pick, value and slot in agreement. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
