For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Eagles walked out of the weekend still thin at interior defensive lineman, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
On value alone, Kinchens makes the weekend a net positive. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 22 they get a ballhawk on the outside at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A quiet steal in the 50th overall pick: Kamren Kinchens for less than the market said. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A straight-up fair deal on Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at slot 54, value and slot in agreement. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Zak Zinter at Round 3, Pick 34 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A need, and now a little less of one.
MarShawn Lloyd slid further than he should have, and the Round 5 slot is lovely value for the running back. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
No edge and no loss on Grayson Murphy in pick 163; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
The board had Kitan Oladapo higher than the 172nd pick, and the safety fell to them anyway. It fills a real need, too.
Fair-plus on Curtis Jacobs, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Joshua Cephus in Round 7, Pick 23. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
