Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Jake Golday got past him. The Steelers do not have to explain a thing at slot 85.
They will need Stephens to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

In Round 1, Pick 31 they get a downhill thumper at linebacker at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
In pick No. 32 they get a No. 1 receiver. A clean fit for the roster.
No edge and no loss on Dontay Corleone in the 63rd pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren at the 76th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.

They took Luke Altmyer at par in the 230th pick, which is nothing to complain about. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
