The Noah Thomas pick is the one that will follow the Dolphins into the fall. They took him 99 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.
Klare at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own.
Leaving linebacker unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but linebacker.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 11th overall pick they get a three-down runner, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
They reached a country mile for Derrick Moore at pick No. 43, and the board is aghast. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They talked themselves into Mason Reiger at No. 75, and the board did not agree. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Jake Slaughter in slot 82 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The roster fit checks out.
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Keionte Scott in the Round 3 slot, plain and simple. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Steal is underselling it; Chase Bisontis at the 90th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It fills a real need, too.
Mike Washington Jr. at pick 97 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Germie Bernard in Round 4, Pick 8 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Michael Trigg at No. 119 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the tight end. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Demond Claiborne at the 120th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They robbed the room for Max Klare here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They let Dametrious Crownover come to them and pounced at slot 151. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A tidy little value on Zxavian Harris in pick No. 158, a step better than break-even. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Nothing to complain about; Drew Allar went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Taylen Green in the 171st pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Domani Jackson in pick 177. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
They paid up for Isaiah Jatta at Round 7, Pick 11 when waiting would have done the job. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Bryce Foster in pick No. 238 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Value said wait; Enrique Cruz Jr. in slot 244 says they were not listening. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A big swing on Joshua Braun at the 246th overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. A need, and now a little less of one.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Micah Morris. It fills a real need, too.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Adam Randall this early at the Round 7 slot. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
