Start where it matters. The Patriots took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
Okie-Anoma has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The Fashanu steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 4 they get their guy under center for the next decade at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Somehow Olumuyiwa Fashanu was still sitting there in No. 27, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Xavier Worthy in Round 2, Pick 2 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Brenden Rice at the Round 3 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A wild overpay on Ben Sinnott in pick No. 103, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Marist Liufau in pick 137 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint in the 180th pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
No drama and no debate, Joe Milton III went about where he belonged in the 193rd overall pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They reached into another round for Eyabi Okie-Anoma, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
