The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Oronde Gadsden II, No. 219, roughly 39 picks past where he belonged.
If Armstrong pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
The skill positions did well by the weekend.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a centerpiece for the ground game. A clean fit for the roster.
By-the-book stuff, Tyleik Williams at the 38th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Jayden Higgins at slot 69 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A clean, defensible pick in No. 77 with a little surplus value in Omarr Norman-Lott. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Ozzy Trapilo at pick No. 105 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A need, and now a little less of one.
Steal is underselling it; Emery Jones Jr. at the 145th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They robbed the room for Oronde Gadsden II here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
No edge and no loss on Isaac TeSlaa in pick 222; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Andrew Armstrong at Round 7, Pick 22 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
