The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Ro Torrence, the Round 6 slot, roughly 21 picks past where he belonged.
They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They are betting Greenfield proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
Xavier Worthy at the 55th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Braden Fiske in Round 2, Pick 29 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Walter Rouse in No. 158 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Good price on Khristian Boyd in pick 184, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Ro Torrence in the 198th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They went early on Garret Greenfield in slot 201, and the value did not follow. The roster fit checks out.
