Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Eagles were there to profit. Isaiah Williams, the No. 180 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 210th pick. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
The back end got a real overhaul. Adding Nolan Givan by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 22 they get an island corner. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They took Edgerrin Cooper at par in the 50th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Kamren Kinchens in No. 61 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jarvis Brownlee Jr. in slot 120. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Luke McCaffrey at Round 5, Pick 25 is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
The board had Tykee Smith higher than the Round 5 slot, and the safety fell to them anyway. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Walter Rouse in pick No. 172 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A need, and now a little less of one.
Isaiah Williams at the 210th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
