It is the swing that defines the weekend: Tommi Hill in pick 84, a good 35 spots before the room expected him.
A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 22 they get protection for the quarterback. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Carson Beck this early at the 53rd overall pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Tommi Hill at slot 84 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Jayden Higgins at pick No. 123 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
No edge and no loss on Bear Alexander in No. 157; it is a wash and a sensible one. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
