Nobody had Dominic Zvada this high, and it is not close. The Bears reached 67 spots to get him at No. 241.
That McAlister pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The phones were where this weekend was really won. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 26th overall pick they get a long-term starter on the line. A real need, handled.
The board had Caleb Banks higher than No. 57, and the interior defensive lineman fell to them anyway. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They let Jacob Rodriguez come to them and pounced at pick 60. The roster fit checks out.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Kamari Ramsey at pick No. 89 is the proof. A minor itch, scratched.
Steal is underselling it; Eric McAlister at the 231st pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They reached into another round for Bryce Foster, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A real head-scratcher, Dominic Zvada in the 241st pick is miles ahead of his ranking. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
