Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Dolphins, and the value they bled adds up to real damage.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. The Crumedy value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
The Ed Ingram deal gives the class an established piece to lean on. The Chambers reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
In the end, one you will need a couple of seasons to truly judge.
Pick-by-Pick
T.J. Tampa at the Round 2 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. A minor itch, scratched.
They paid sticker price for Patrick Paul in the 66th pick, and that is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
By-the-book stuff, Javon Baker at No. 90 squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
The board had Isaiah Adams higher than the 137th overall pick, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Kitan Oladapo at pick 157 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They went early on Steele Chambers in slot 183, and the value did not follow. The roster fit checks out.
Kendall Milton at pick No. 197 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A need, and now a little less of one.
They let Jaden Crumedy come to them and pounced at Round 7, Pick 21. The roster logic is harder to follow.
