Nobody had Tommy Mellott this high, and it is not close. The Chiefs reached 76 spots to get him at No. 256. The bottom line is a respectable B+.
Henderson falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
The board fumbled Tate Ratledge all the way to No. 61, and they scooped it up. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A premium they did not need to pay, Donovan Ezeiruaku a notch or two before his time. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Circle this one: Tyler Warren at pick 66 is a fall that decides a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
