The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Giants spent their marquee pick on Drake Maye, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.
The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Braswell falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. If Haynesworth pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 6th pick they get their guy under center for the next decade at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Keon Coleman in slot 38 is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A straight-up fair deal on Jordan Morgan at pick 47, value and slot in agreement. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Chris Braswell at the Round 3 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
The board had cheaper options than Beau Brade at No. 106, and it noticed. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Sincere Haynesworth. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
The board had Jaylin Simpson higher than the 184th overall pick, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. It fills a real need, too.
