You build a draft on nights like this. Jake Golday had no business being available in pick 92, and the Cowboys did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 12th overall pick they get a downhill thumper at linebacker. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In the 20th pick they get a three-down second-level presence at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A edge rusher of that caliber at Round 3, Pick 28 is the definition of value, full stop. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Value with a capital V on Treydan Stukes in pick 112, a genuine coup. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Dametrious Crownover at No. 152 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
