You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Bears did exactly that with Keyron Crawford in the 60th overall pick.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. On the needs board they went 2 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Olaivavega Ioane · OG · rank 19
In No. 25 they get a cornerstone up front. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.25 · Pick 57 · Dani Dennis-Sutton · DE-EDGE · rank 85
Dani Dennis-Sutton in pick 57 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R2.28 · Pick 60 · Keyron Crawford · DE-EDGE · rank 89
They left a pile of value on the table to take Keyron Crawford this early at the 60th overall pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
