Thirty-one other rooms let Keionte Scott slide, and the Chiefs were the ones holding the card at slot 148. Highway robbery. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
They are betting Curry proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The tight end hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 9 they get a lockdown presence outside. More want than need.
In the 29th overall pick they get the heartbeat of the defense, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
They reached a country mile for Derrick Moore at slot 40, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Caden Curry in pick No. 74, miles early. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A tidy bit of business in the 109th pick, where Bryce Lance graded well above the range. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Taking Keionte Scott in No. 148 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Kaytron Allen in the Round 5 slot, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A wide receiver of that caliber at pick 176 is the definition of value, full stop. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Circle this one: Kaleb Elarms-Orr at the Round 6 slot is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
