The Giants' one glaring miss is interior defensive lineman, a need they left exactly as they found it. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
They are betting Simpson proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a long-term starter on the line at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
No edge and no loss on Keon Coleman in pick 37; it is a wash and a sensible one. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Kris Jenkins at slot 54 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A need, and now a little less of one.
A reach on Jaylin Simpson in No. 69; the board had better options right there. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Tate Ratledge in pick No. 105 is fair value, right on his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Luke Lachey at the 142nd overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Devin Neal in the 183rd pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
