The search is over. The Giants handed the keys to Drake Maye, and the whole operation now runs on his development. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Colby. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 5 they get their quarterback of the future. A real need, handled.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Rome Odunze in pick No. 37, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Taking Kris Abrams-Draine in the 54th pick is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They robbed the room for Jordan Morgan here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Bucky Irving at Round 4, Pick 5 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A need, and now a little less of one.
Connor Colby at the 171st overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Frank Gore Jr. in the Round 6 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
