This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Keon Coleman, the No. 36 name on the board, stolen at Round 3, Pick 4. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. They will need Milton III to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 3 they get a home-run threat at receiver at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Ja'Tavion Sanders in Round 2, Pick 2 is fair value, right on his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A wide receiver of that caliber at No. 68 is the definition of value, full stop. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A quiet steal in the 104th overall pick: Trey Benson for less than the market said. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
No drama and no debate, Christian Jones went about where he belonged in the 136th pick. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They paid a round early for Joe Milton III in pick 182, more than the board wanted. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Erick All in pick No. 229 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It fills a real need, too.
