The search is over. The Patriots handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development. Just about everything broke right, and the A- follows.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. For all the activity, safety went untouched, which is hard to explain. Landing Guerendo that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
The Patriots clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.
A strong weekend's work, and a rare one to find this little fault with.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 9th pick they get their quarterback of the future. A real need, handled.
No drama and no debate, Ja'Tavion Sanders went about where he belonged in the 34th overall pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Keon Coleman at slot 47 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A tidy little value on Kingsley Suamataia in pick 68, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A straight-up fair deal on Brandon Dorlus at No. 75, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Will Shipley. The roster fit checks out.
They took McKinnley Jackson at par in Round 4, Pick 22, which is nothing to complain about. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Isaac Guerendo in the Round 5 slot. A need, and now a little less of one.
Layden Robinson in slot 180 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They liked Jaylan Ford enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 193. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Edefuan Ulofoshio in the 231st overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
