The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Ja'Kobi Lane, pick 126, roughly 28 picks past where he belonged. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
Leaving offensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
Sonny Styles in pick 26 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Michael Taaffe in No. 91 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Steal is underselling it; Ja'Kobi Lane at the Round 4 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Charles Demmings slipping to Round 5, Pick 25 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A clean, defensible pick in the 168th overall pick with a little surplus value in Tanner Koziol. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Kevin Coleman Jr. in pick No. 184 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A straight-up fair deal on Keyshaun Elliott at slot 220, value and slot in agreement. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
