The Bills put a flag in the ground for Jack Pyburn, 69 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
A whole weekend of picks and offensive lineman is somehow still a want. Styles falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but offensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 26 they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
Darrell Jackson Jr. in the 93rd overall pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They reached a country mile for Mikail Kamara at the 126th pick, and the board is aghast. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Zxavian Harris in Round 5, Pick 25. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They reached into another round for VJ Payne, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A conviction pick on Jeff Caldwell at slot 182 that the board grades a round light. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jack Pyburn in pick No. 220, miles early. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
