Nobody had Vincent Anthony Jr. this high, and it is not close. The Bills reached 72 spots to get him at pick No. 168.
However the rest shakes out, Jackson at that price is a win they earned. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped safety, which is a strange place to end up.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the safety spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
Value with a capital V on Omar Cooper Jr. in pick No. 48, a genuine coup. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A reach on Darrell Jackson Jr. in the Round 3 slot; the board had better options right there. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Nice patience on Brian Parker II, who had no business lasting to pick 126. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Kaleb Elarms-Orr in the 165th overall pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Vincent Anthony Jr. this early at slot 168. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
