You build a draft on nights like this. Danny Stutsman had no business being available in slot 164, and the Eagles did the only sane thing and turned in the card. The bottom line is a respectable B.
A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. Reaching for Bryant left real value on the table behind him.
They went 5 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 31 they get an enforcer at safety, and a steal at that.
Tate Ratledge in No. 63 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
By-the-book stuff, Azareye'h Thomas at the Round 3 slot squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They will replay Tez Johnson at the 128th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Mason Taylor at the 160th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Danny Stutsman in pick 164, plain and simple. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
They jumped the gun on Cobee Bryant, taking him earlier than his grade liked. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
