The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Jacob Cowing, pick 163, roughly 64 picks past where he belonged. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Hopper reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 22nd overall pick they get a lockdown presence outside at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Nice patience on Tyler Guyton, who had no business lasting to Round 2, Pick 18. The roster fit checks out.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Byron Murphy II at the Round 2 slot. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Somehow Jackson Powers-Johnson was still sitting there in slot 97, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Ty'Ron Hopper at pick No. 137 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Jacob Cowing in No. 163 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A tidy bit of business in pick 172, where Braelon Allen graded well above the range. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Zion Tupuola-Fetui at the 178th pick is the proof. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
The board fumbled Jontrey Hunter all the way to No. 243, and they scooped it up. A need, and now a little less of one.
