Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Cowboys came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. It does the job without flash, and the B+ reflects it.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Dart. The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Scourton has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a disruptor off the edge, reach and all. Need was not the driver here.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Emery Jones Jr. in pick 77. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Value with a capital V on Karene Reid in the 113th overall pick, a genuine coup. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Somehow Jaxson Dart was still sitting there in slot 151, and they pounced on premier quarterback value. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Nic Anderson at Round 5, Pick 32 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Antwane Wells Jr. in No. 172 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Henry Parrish Jr. at the Round 6 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Ben Yurosek slipping to pick 209 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
