Nobody else had Tim Smith anywhere near the 190th overall pick. The Cowboys did, by 162 spots, and that gap is the whole story.

The Judkins pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.
