Start where it matters. The Cowboys took Bo Nix to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. Good, not great, and the B+ says as much.
If Jefferson pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The phones were where this weekend was really won. The Worthy steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
The linebacker hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Good work on the whole, with linebacker the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 13th overall pick they get a long-term answer under center, though they paid up to get him. A real need, handled.
They did well to land Graham Barton in the 37th pick, just ahead of his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They barely believed it either: Xavier Worthy still on the board at the Round 3 slot. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
No edge and no loss on Khyree Jackson in pick No. 100; it is a wash and a sensible one. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Justin Rogers in pick 124 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It fills a real need, too.
Jordan Jefferson at slot 142 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A running back of that caliber at No. 174 is the definition of value, full stop. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They robbed the room for Christian Jones here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Jordan Whittington at the 245th pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
