More right than wrong for the Chargers, and a B- to prove it.

The Xavier Thomas pick is the one that will follow the Chargers into the fall. They took him 84 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. The Jordan value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 5 they get a difference-maker at receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
By-the-book stuff, Kris Jenkins at the Round 2 slot squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They paid sticker price for Brandon Dorlus in Round 3, Pick 5, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Marshawn Kneeland at No. 106 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Cedric Gray in pick 139 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A minor itch, scratched.
Value said wait; Xavier Thomas in the 183rd pick says they were not listening. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Jawhar Jordan at the 223rd pick is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Jordan Toles in pick No. 256 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
