The war room fell hard for Evan Williams, and it showed at slot 256: 50 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 29 they get a sticky cover corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
A reach for Jackson Powers-Johnson in pick No. 37; a little patience would have been rewarded. A need, and now a little less of one.
By-the-book stuff, Cooper Beebe at the Round 3 slot squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A reach on Darius Robinson in pick 106; the board had better options right there. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A tidy bit of business in the 139th overall pick, where Cole Bishop graded well above the range. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
