After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Commanders committed. Bo Nix is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. It washes out to a C, no better and no worse.
The Simpson steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. Stover has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.
Call it incomplete, and check back in a couple of seasons.

R2.4
· Pick 36
· JT Tuimoloau
· DE-EDGE

JT Tuimoloau at the 36th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R2.8
· Pick 40
· Jordan Morgan

Nice patience on Jordan Morgan, who had no business lasting to pick 40. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R3.3
· Pick 67

Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in No. 67 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A minor itch, scratched.
R3.8
· Pick 72

Zach Frazier in slot 72 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R3.37

Value said wait; Cade Stover in Round 3, Pick 37 says they were not listening. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.

They read the board right and James Williams was the payoff at the 141st pick. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R6.6
· Pick 181

· rank 144
Jaylin Simpson in pick 181 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R6.36
· Pick 211

· OG

The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Miles Frazier. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R7.3

· WR
· rank 206
A slide stopped in the 223rd overall pick, with Dominic Lovett worth more than the price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
