For all the boxes ticked, the Cardinals skipped the loudest one: quarterback is exactly as bare as it was. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
The Johnson steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
The board had Ashton Jeanty higher than pick 16, and the running back fell to them anyway. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Jonah Savaiinaea at the 47th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Donovan Jackson is a better player than Round 3, Pick 14 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Nice patience on Tez Johnson, who had no business lasting to slot 115. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
