2025 NFL Draft
· 8 picks
· 2 steals
· 3 reaches
The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Patriots reached some 62 spots for Seth McLaughlin, and value like that does not grow back.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. That Judkins pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 2 they get a sticky cover corner at fair value.
In No. 24 they get a load in the middle at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
A tidy little value on Tate Ratledge in pick No. 38, a step better than break-even. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Tez Johnson at the Round 3 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
The board fumbled Quinshon Judkins all the way to pick 105, and they scooped it up. It fills a real need, too.
A real head-scratcher, Seth McLaughlin in the 140th pick is miles ahead of his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
Davison Igbinosun is a better player than the 222nd pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
J.C. Davis at pick No. 237 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
