The Dolphins torched the value chart for Mason Reiger, taking him 50 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted.
Getting Stowers where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a go-to option on the outside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In the 17th overall pick they get a matchup problem out wide, reach and all. The biggest hole, addressed.
Nice patience on Dillon Thieneman, who had no business lasting to slot 43. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Emmanuel Pregnon in pick No. 50 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They read the board right and Keionte Scott was the payoff at pick 75. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Taking Eli Stowers in Round 3, Pick 23 is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
The board fumbled Jadarian Price all the way to the Round 3 slot, and they scooped it up. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Mason Reiger well ahead of where he belonged. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
By-the-book stuff, Chris McClellan at No. 130 squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Tim Keenan III in the 151st pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They did well to land Drew Allar in slot 157, just ahead of his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Aiden Fisher at pick 238 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A need, and now a little less of one.
