Boards are made to be trusted, and the Cowboys shredded theirs for Jacoby Windmon. He came off 125 spots early, and the room will hear about it. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
That Neyor pick is the receipt they will wave around later. For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 24 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A straight-up fair deal on Jonathon Brooks at slot 56, value and slot in agreement. It fills a real need, too.
They did well to land McKinnley Jackson in the 92nd overall pick, just ahead of his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
J.J. Weaver in pick No. 124 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A minor need, but a need all the same.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jacoby Windmon in pick 174, miles early. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Kimani Vidal at No. 207 is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
No drama and no debate, Jalen Green went about where he belonged in pick No. 212. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They barely believed it either: Isaiah Neyor still on the board at the 245th pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
